What is Motherboard ?


Motherboard is a printed circuit board containing the principal components of a computer or other device, with connectors for other circuit boards to be slotted into.

  1. Thanks for the informative post. Motherboard specifically makes reference to a PCB with the expansion capability. The name suggests, this board often referred as the "mother" of all the components attached to it. Often include interface cards, peripherals, and daughter cards: video cards, sound cards, hard drives, network cards, or other forms of persistent storage; TV tuner cards, cards providing extra USB or FireWire slots and the variety of other custom components.

How to enter the BIOS or CMOS setup?

Because of the wide variety of computer and BIOS manufacturers over the evolution of computers, there are numerous ways to enter the BIOS or CMOS Setup.
